Preventative Denistry
Preventative dentistry is far more affordable and comfortable than intensive dental work. Cleanings and checkups are your first line of defense against gum disease and tooth decay!
Routine Cleanings
According to the American Dental Association, you should visit a dentist every six months. During regular checkups at our office, Dr. Yahn will examine your teeth and gums for any signs of dental health issues. As part of our oral hygiene appointments, our team will clean your mouth to ensure that it is free of plaque and tartar that can cause cavities.
Dental X-Rays
Dental X-rays are a useful diagnostic tool that allow Dr. Yahn to detect damage and disease not visible during the clinical exam. We use digital x-rays because they are significantly safer and faster than traditional.
Sealants
Dental sealants are thin plastic coating that when painted on the chewing surfaces of the back teeth (molars) can prevent cavities (tooth decay) for many years. Sealants protect the chewing surfaces from cavities by covering them with a protective shield that blocks out germs and food.
Fluoride Treatments
Our office offers a Fluoride Varnish (Ultradent) that can be applied to the enamel (outer surface ) of the teeth to help prevent tooth decay.
